Hardware Requirements

Dialogic Card based Software:
Acarda Messenger Autodialers

TAPI Compatable Software:
CallAssist Telemarketing Dialer
TeamMax Call Center Software

Acarda Messenger Autodialers
If you wish to purchase a complete system, ie a computer with software and dialogic card already installed, please contact us for more details.  You can also purchase a software licence plus a dialogic card (a kit) for you to install into your own computer. Please return to this page to make sure you also understand the PBX requirements for the software you select.

Otherwise, if you prefer to purchase a separate software licence and put together a system yourself, you'll need the following information to help you decide what hardware to use.

Acarda Messenger Advanced Edition has three templates the Sales Lead, the Client Call, and the Survey whereas the Standard Edition only has the Sales Lead template.

Hardware Requirements for these telephony applications can be broken into three parts:

Computer Requirements
We recommend running Acarda Messenger on a computer with Windows 2000/XP.   The minimum specification for the computer should be:

  • Pentium III or equivalent
  • Typically 128M RAM
  • 1 ISA slot per ISA-compatible Dialogic Card.
  • or 1 PCI slot for the PCI Dialogic Card. PCI cards are not supported on Windows 95/98.

PBX Requirements
Acarda Messenger  requires  a PBX telephone system (or Centrex service) to transfer calls.  However, if you do not intend to enable recipients to transfer back to someone within your company then you DO NOT require a PBX telephone system (or Centrex service) as a standard analog telephone line will be sufficient.

For our telephony applications to work, your telephone system (PBX or Centrex service) must be able to transfer calls by switch-hooking (ie momentarily disconnecting and then dialling the number you want to be transferred to), and sending DTMF tones. Most modern PBX's function in this way.  If it is a digital PBX, you will need to have an analog card installed.

Dialogic Telephony Card Requirements
To connect the computer to your telephone line you require a professional Dialogic Telephony Card.

Dialogic Cards for Acarda Messenger Autodialers:

Acarda Messenger will work with:

  • D/4PCI
  • D/4PCIU
  • D/4PCIUF
  • Dialog/4
  • D/41D
  • D/21D
  • D/41E
  • D4/41ESC
  • D21/H
  • D41/H
  • Proline/2V
  • and other compatable cards.

The D/4PCI and D/4PCIU is a PCI card and is supported by Windows 2000/XP and not Windows 95/98. All the other cards above are ISA format and can be used on Windows 2000/XP or 95/98.

Note: When ordering your Dialogic card, remember to order the Dialogic Driver CD-Rom disk. The Dialogic driver you need depends on the operating system of your computer:

  • The D/4PCI requires the SR5.1 or SR6 driver.
  • The D/4PCIU requires the SR6 driver (or SR5.1.1 with Feature Pack)
  • The ISA cards use Windows 95 driver with PTR5083

You can download PTR 5083 here.

If you don't receive the drivers with your card, you can purchase them on CD from us. Alternativly you can find out about downloading them here.

CallAssist & TeamMax
CallAssist & TeamMax will run on Windows 2000/XP. Our software needs a TAPI compatible interface to dial; the vast majority of modems are compatible.

It is recommended that CallAssist runs on a computer that is at least a PII.

The TeamMax Server requires at least a PIII or equivalent with at least 128M RAM. The agent computers should be at least a PII or equivalent.

Headset/Telephone
A conventional telephone will operate with CallAssist & TeamMax however a headset will be far more productive. The telephone/headset must be plugged in parallel with your modem. We recommend a splitter (double telephone adapter) plugged into your telephone line, one side of the splitter goes to your modem and the other to a conventional telephone/headset. When the dialing message box displays you have several seconds to pick up the call, the modem drops the call (and hangs up) leaving you with the call. TeamMax Agent can either use direct telephone lines or connect to your PBX telephone extensions. If a PBX TAPI interface is present modems are not required.
